Mommy's Makes and Redos!!

Thanks to my friend and neighbor, I have been much more creative and brave!! Brave is really the word. I've always needed to release my creative side, but never have I gone into this new realm of woodworking and redo'ing!! Thanks, friend!!!

My first "make" was a window seat...This is a blown out picture, sitting upright...just before I re-did it just a year after making it!!! I decided it would work better in Cooper's new big-boy room. But, it was too long, so I had to saw off one cubbie (the boys are sitting on the sawed off portion) and then repaint it to match his blue furniture!

I wanted to find some furniture for Cooper's new big-boy room, instead I found a new dresser for Eric's room! It was a $40 flea-market find and I couldn't pass it up! Here is the before, during (wow - that is RED) and after:

Still in an effort to create Cooper's big-boy room, I needed to update his "new" bed. This was actually my brother, Chad's, headboard from high school (yes, my mom still had it)! But, the brown wasn't working for me! So......before, during and after:

.........and, of course, Cooper sleeping in his bed for the first time!!! Happy boy!

Once I moved Eric's dressers out of his room to make space for the above red beauty, I had to figure out what to do with his old stuff (was my uncle's, my mom's, mine and Eric's)! Now, it will be converted back into a desk in the kids playroom! It was nice before...but, the brown just didn't work in their blue/grey playroom. So, I painted it a beautiful grey and I LOVED it!! BUT...it looked terrible up against the blue walls!!!! Just blended right in and now pizazze, whatsoever!!! So, back to the garage and out came a new beautiful black beauty...SOOOOOO much better against the blue wall!

My second ever building project was a new headboard for our queen-sized master bed. We've wanted a new headboard for a while, but just couldn't justify spending close to a $1000 on a bed!!! I mean really! So, when my friend showed me this website by Ana White...I saw this headboard and decided it was worth a go!! So here it is in my garage being painted! The before bed, and then after (before all the new pillows, those will be shown later)!!!
On the way home from the city with mom, we stopped at a junk shop. Yes, a junk shop. The guy wasn't there, so I tried to go back another time. I finally just called the number on his shop that said, "Got Junk? Call Milo!!" I called Milo and said I want some of your junk! He said to put the money in an envelope and put it in the trash can by the door! Really??? Well, okay!
What did I get...the beautiful window...well, it wasn't so beautiful at first. But after some sanding, buffing, cleaning and painting, I L.O.V.E it!!!

UPDATE: My beautiful window...I have added some glass etching to it! What a fun way for us to recognize our anniversary!! Now I love it even more!!

DUMPSTER DIVING!!!
My first Dumpster Dive!!!! I found this while I was out walking with Cooper. The big kids where at gymnastics, so Coops and I went exploring and I saw this and thought I had to have it!! Not sure why, but I needed it! Rachel agreed and I got to work! We decided it would be perfect for her new room and all her knick-knacks!! She wanted it, pink! So, pink it is:
